  • City of Hope Hospital v. Genentech, Inc., 43 Cal.4th 375 (Cal. Supreme Court 2008) (clarifying fiduciary duty law in the context of inventors and biopharmaceutical companies where inventors entrust their patented inventions for commercial development to pharmaceutical companies).
  • Carbonell v. INS, 429 F.3d 894 (9th Cir. 2005) (secured unanimous reversal of district court decision and secured fees against the United States).
  • Nonnette v. Small, 316 F.3d 872 (9th Cir. 2002) (secured reversal in significant case involving federal statutory construction of civil statutes).
  • Crow Irvine #2 v. Winthrop California Investors Limited Partnership, 128 Cal. Rptr. 2d 644 (Cal. Ct. Appeal 2002) (secured unanimous reversal in complex business dissolution and partnership dispute).
  • Vargas-Garcia v. INS, 287 F.3d 882 (9th Cir. 2002) (secured reversal in constitutional due process case, finding the government violated the Due process Clause of the Fifth Amendment).
  • Patel v. Southern California Water Co., 110 Cal. Rptr. 2d 119 (Cal. App. 4 Dist. Apr. 16, 2002) (obtained unanimous affirmance in case involving the limits of the eminent domain power of a public utility)
  • Taylor v. DeLatoore, 281 F.3d 884 (9th Cir. 2001) (secured reversal in a section 1983 appeal upholding the constitutional right of a mentally and physically disabled indigent to proceed in forma pauperis and have his civil rights case adjudicated on its merits).
  • Mabe v. County of San Bernardino, 237 F.3d 1101 (9th Cir. 2001) (secured unanimous reversal and a finding of Fourth Amendment violations by County officials).
  • In re Eichorn, 81 Cal. Rptr.2d 535 (Cal.App. 4 Dist. Dec. 30, 1998) (obtained writ of habeas corpus for homeless client in case challenging the constitutionality of city's "anti-camping" ordinance)
  • RSI Home Product Sales, Inc. v. Maggos & Associates, Inc., 2008 WL 2752310, (Cal.App. 4 Dist. Jul 16, 2008) (secured unanimous reversal and remand of a dismissal for lack of personal jurisdiction)
  • Medina v. Downey Savings and Loan Assn'n, 2005 WL 906507 (Cal.App. 4 Dist. Apr. 20, 2005 (obtained unanimous affirmance of a dismissal on demurrer for financial institution client)
  • Rainwater v. Alarcon, 2008 WL 510546 (9th Cir. 2008) (obtained a unanimous reversal and remand from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in a constitutional challenge to the State of California's administration of medication that causes osteoperosis to involuntarily committed individuals without informed consent).
  • William Hablinski Architecture v. Shahverdi, 2005 WL 1253916 (Cal. App. 2005) (obtained affirmance of a dismissal from the California Court of Appeal, Second District, in, a high-profile case involving copyright-infringement-related claims over plans allegedly stolen by a former associate at an architectural firm).
  • Al Salami v. Ashcroft, No. 02-70260 (9th Cir. 2002) (obtained successful remand by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to the Board of Immigration Appeals in, an appeal for political asylum involving an Iraqi national who was tortured and beaten by Saddam Hussein and had a death warrant issued in his name for his religious affiliation and anti-government activities).
  • Rice v. Cayetano, 528 U.S. 495 (2000) (drafted an amicus curiae brief on behalf of the respondents in, a United States Supreme Court case involving a Fifteenth Amendment challenge to voting requirements for the State of Hawaii's Office of Hawaiian Affairs).

In addition, we have prevailed in an interlocutory review proceeding before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals regarding the standing of a patent licensee to pursue a patent infringement action; in a trademark and anti-trust appeal involving the Newport Beach Marina before the California Court of Appeal; an important free speech matter in the California Court of Appeal on behalf of a well-known media personality; a dispute between a real estate broker and a property-management company contracted by the United States government over whether federal regulations allowed the company to change its sales procedures; a business dispute where the California Court of Appeal agreed to reverse a seven-figure lost profits award.
